  • Do those cultural instructions support or in opposition to God’s design of sexual intimacy in heterosexual marriage for the purposes of unity/bonding, procreation, and pleasure?

  • What has been the most helpful advice you’ve received about human sexuality?

Digging Deeper into Scripture:

  • Read Job 31:1 (Habit #1 – Our eyes)

    • Note: A “covenant” is a strong, unbreakable promise.

    • How would you define “look with lust”?

    • In what ways can we look at someone that will not help us live God’s design for human sexuality?

    • In what ways can we look at someone that will help us live God’s design for human sexuality?

    • How does the ease of online porn make this covenant with our eyes more challenging?

  • Read 1 Timothy 5:1-2 (Habit #2 – Our approach)

    • Note: The church is actually a family, the family of God. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

    • What is Paul’s advice to Timothy, a younger pastor he is mentoring, going to help Timothy as he pastor’s the people he serves? What will Paul’s advice help Timothy avoid?

    • How does looking at a person’s face rather than their body help us live up into God’s design for human sexuality?

    • Billy Graham’s had the rule that he would never be alone in a private space with a woman. How might that rule seem “old fashioned”? How might that rule be very helpful?

    • What we focus on determines what we take into our brain which influences how we behave.

    • What sources of information/media that draw our focus away from God’s design?

    • Try a media “fast” for one week as a way of assessing how much media is drawing your focus away from God’s design.
